Who is VR Payment?

The payment expert of the Cooperative Financial Group.

VR Payment processes card payments in-store and online for the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken—from network operations and card acceptance to card issuance services. For your store, this means: a contract partner based in Germany, subject to German regulation, and with German-language support—and an integration that’s already included in the XONIC Shop System.

You don’t need an account with a Volksbank or Raiffeisenbank. Your payouts are deposited into the bank account you provide to VR Payment.

The payment methods your customers ultimately see depend on your contract with VR Payment and the order itself: The store system automatically hides any options that don’t match the country, currency, or amount. Klarna and Sofort are available exclusively to individual customers—they are therefore automatically excluded from the B2B checkout.

Appropriate options at checkout
Before displaying the options, the store system automatically checks which payment methods are enabled for the country, currency, and amount—no manual toggling required.
Card data stored off your server
Payments are processed on a hosted payment page by VR Payment. Sensitive card data never reaches your store—this helps you meet PCI-DSS compliance requirements.
Refunds in the Backend
You can initiate refunds directly within the order. The store checks in advance whether the payment method allows it in this specific case and records the result in the order history.
Test First, Then Go Live
Test and live environments are completely separate. You can test the entire ordering process before processing your first real payment.

In the XONIC Store

What the interface handles for you.

The integration is part of the XONIC Shop System—you provide your login credentials, and we set up the rest.

Hosted payment page
The checkout process redirects to the VR Payment payment page and receives the result—including a redirect back to the order confirmation.
Secure Status Notifications
Messages from VR Payment are verified via digital signature, filtered to known sender addresses, and protected against duplicate imports.
Reserve or Collect Immediately
You decide whether the amount is charged immediately or first reserved and finalized upon shipment—the shipping status in the backend triggers the charge.
Line Item Data Instead of a Total Amount
Items, quantities, and attributes such as color or size are transmitted as individual line items—important for purchase on account and for accurate receipts.
Payment methods: individual or bundled
Display a single payment method in the checkout or list each method individually with a logo and custom text—you control the selection in the backend.
Multiple providers in parallel
VR Payment can be operated alongside your existing payment methods. This means you can start using WERO without replacing your current provider.

Three contracts—one of which has no base fee.

When signing up, you can choose between three subscription models. All terms and conditions are those of VR Payment, not XONIC.

Calculation example for WERO-ONLY: For a shopping cart value of 100 €, the maximum cost for the first 12 months is 90 cents—0.85% commission including the transaction fee.

Do I need an account with a Volksbank or Raiffeisenbank?
No. An active account with a cooperative bank is not required. Payouts are made to the bank account you provide during registration.
Is the interface included in the XONIC Shop System?
Yes. The payment module is included in the standard package—there are no additional licensing fees. You pay only the fees specified in your contract with VR Payment. Our team will handle the setup in the shop.
Can I use VR Payment alongside my current payment provider?
Yes. The XONIC Shop System can support multiple payment providers simultaneously. So you can start by adding WERO via VR Payment while keeping your existing provider up and running as usual.
When will I receive my funds?
VR Payment makes payments weekly by default; daily payments can be added as an option. The terms of your contract apply.
Can I test the ordering process beforehand?
Yes. VR Payment provides a separate test environment. We’ll first switch your store to test mode, check orders, status messages, and refunds, and only then switch to live mode.
Which payment methods will my customers see at checkout?
This depends on two factors: which payment methods are enabled in your contract with VR Payment and whether they are applicable to the specific order. Before displaying any options, the store system checks which country, currency, and amount are permitted and hides the rest.
