Categories

Field definitions and sample XML for importing and exporting categories.

Field Definitions

Required fields are marked with a pencil icon. The field definitions follow MySQL syntax.

All fields are parsed according to their type before import. If you enter an empty string in `parent_id`, the empty string is converted to a 0 via an INT cast.

id
int(11)
The unique ID of the category.
The category is always updated based on the ID.
parent
int(11)
The parent ID of the category. The ID of the root category is 0.
image
varchar(128)
Image path to the category image
relative to the category's source image folder (images/source-images/categories).
status
tinyint(1)
Category status: active/inactive
  • 1: active (default)
  • 0: inactive
sort_order
int(11)
Sort order of the category
Categories at the same level are sorted in ascending order
date_added
datetime
Category creation date
Format: YYYY-mm-dd HH:ii:ss
If no date is provided, NOW() is set as the timestamp.
last_modified
datetime
Category modification date
Format: YYYY-mm-dd HH:ii:ss
If no date is provided, NOW() is set as the timestamp.
header
tinyint(1)
Category in the header menu: yes/no
  • 1: yes
  • 0: no (default)
sitemap
tinyint(1)
Link to category in the XML sitemap: yes/no
  • 1: yes (default)
  • 0: no
languages
language
Each `languages` node contains [1..n] `language_{languages_code}` nodes. The ` {languages_code} ` is the ISO-2 code for the respective language.

The name of your category, e.g., "Technology".
description

Description of the category
short_description

Short description of the category
seo_name
varchar(255)
SEO Name of the Category
domainname.tld/CategorySEOName/
If no SEO name is specified, the category name is used as the SEO name.

Title Meta Tag
