0:00 · Introduction
Your new XONIC shop is ready. This video shows you the first steps up to going live, in the right order: first the foundation, then the product range.
0:14 · Logging in and securing access
You reach the admin area at your domain plus xpanel. Log in with your user name or email address and password. Under Settings, Administrators, My Account, you switch on two-factor authentication. And every person on the team gets their own account.
0:34 · Setting up in peace
Set up your shop behind the maintenance page. Under Settings, General, Maintenance, you switch on maintenance mode and release your own IP address. Visitors then see a notice page, you work in the shop as usual.
0:52 · Store details
First come the store details. Under Basic Settings you enter the shop name, owner, address, logo and bank details. These details appear in the shop, in emails and on documents. You set the sender of the shop emails in the email options.
1:11 · Legal texts
Then the legal texts. In the CMS manager you replace the sample texts for terms and conditions, right of withdrawal, privacy and imprint with your own. Or you connect a legal text provider under Legal Portals. Then changes in the law reach your shop automatically.
1:30 · Taxes and delivery countries
Tax rates and delivery countries are prepared for a German shop delivering within the EU: nineteen and seven percent and the country zones of the EU. Check under Country and Tax whether this fits your business.
1:45 · Payment and shipping
Payment and shipping methods are modules. Under Settings, Checkout, Payment Methods, you install a payment method and set it up. Out of the box, only prepayment is active. Under Shipping Methods you set the prices per country zone and choose which payment methods go with which shipping method.
2:06 · Categories and products
Now comes the product range. Under Products, Categories and Products, you create your categories with “Insert Category”. With “Insert Product” the first product follows: item number and name under “General”, the price under “Prices” and the category under “Other”.
2:25 · Testing and going live
Finally, place a test order, from checkout to invoice. Then switch payment and shipping providers from test to live mode and turn maintenance mode off. Your shop is online.
